By doing so they fixed a huge mistake of releasing two seperate drivers for two games that are being played allot at this moment. It was kind of frustrating to be swapping out drivers for most users to be able and play these games  (I already had my own mixed and matched driver set for these games)

What is AMD gDEBugger?
AMD gDEBugger is an OpenCL™ and OpenGL debugger and memory analyzer integrated into Microsoft Visual Studio. gDEBugger offers real-time OpenCL kernel debugging, which allows developers to step into the kernel execution directly from the API call that issues it, debug inside the kernel, view all variable values across the different work groups and work items – and all this on a single computer with a single GPU.
 
gDEBugger takes the mystery out of debugging OpenCL and OpenGL, allowing developers to peer into compute and graphic memory objects such as OpenCL images to view their contents as they change from write, copy, and kernel operations. Performance highlights of the AMD Catalyst 11.1 release includes:

AMD Optimized Tessellation
The Catalyst Control Center includes an early prototype of some new tessellation controls. Our goal is to give users full control over the tessellation levels used in applications. The default selection

AMD Optimized

setting allows AMD, on a per application basis, to set the best level of tessellation. The intention is to help users get the maximum visual benefit of Tessellation, while minimizing the impact on performance. Currently no applications have been profiled, so the

AMD Optimized

setting will be non-operational until further notice.

The

Use Application Settings

option gives applications full control over the Tessellation level. Users can also manually set the maximum tessellation level used by applications with the slider control.

The long term goal for the

AMD Optimized

setting is to use the Catalyst Application Profile mechanism to control the AMD recommended level of tessellation on a per application basis. AMD’s intention is to set the tessellation level such that we will not be reducing image quality in any way that would negatively impact the gaming experience.

We have changed the behavior of the texture filtering slider in our latest Catalyst Hotfix driver based on feedback, as detailed below.

• The HQ setting remains unchanged. This provides reference quality filtering from our hardware, meaning it does exactly what an application requests with no optimizations or tweaks of any kind.
• The Quality setting has now been improved to match the HQ setting in all respects except for one – it enables an optimization that limits trilinear anisotropic filtering to areas surrounding texture mipmap level transitions, while doing bilinear anisotropic filtering elsewhere. Sometimes referred to as “bilinear” filtering, it offers a way to improve filtering performance without visibly affecting image quality. It has no impact on texture sharpness or shimmering, and this can be verified by comparing it visually with the High Quality setting.

We continue to recommend the Quality setting as the best one to use for competitive testing for the following reasons:

• It should be visually indistinguishable from the High Quality setting for real textures (with the exception of special test patterns using colored mip levels)
• Visual quality should now be equal to the default setting used on HD 5800 series GPUs with Catalyst 10.9 and earlier drivers, or better when used on HD 6800/6900 series GPUs due to other hardware filtering improvements
• It matches the default texture filtering quality setting currently implemented on our competitor’s GPUs, which make use of the same trilinear filtering optimization
• The Performance setting has also been changed to address a few user comments regarding the sharpness of our default filtering settings causing shimmering in certain cases. It now provides a smoother filtering option that eliminates most shimmering while preserving the improved detail provided by anisotropic filtering. We accomplished this by applying a small LOD bias and tweaking some other characteristics of the filter in software. This setting also includes the trilinear optimization used in the Quality mode, since it offers improved performance with no discernable effect on sharpness or shimmering. Frame rates should be similar to those obtained with the quality setting.

For All Windows Operating Systems

• “Current Setting” indicator will now appear when “Windows desktop” option is selected in “Catalyst Control Center – Basic” for specific CV resolutions

For the Windows 7 Operating System

• “Desktop Window Manager has stopped working” error no longer appears after driver installation on specific cards
• ATI Stream (CAL) test no longer exits with exception error under CrossFire configurations
• Screen no longer turns blank when flashlight is turned on in “The Chronicles of Riddick 2″ with Screen Space Ambient Occlusion enabled
• Running Unigine Heaven 2.1 (OpenGL) with “Tessellation” enabled no longer causes system to fail
• Player no longer exits abruptly while changing basic quality settings in Catalyst Control Center
• Browser no longer fails after repeated system suspend/resume and video playbackpauses while viewing YouTube content

For the Windows Vista Operating System

• ATI Stream (CAL) test no longer exits with exception error under CrossFire configurations

For the Windows XP Operating System

• “Age Of Empires: The Rise of Rome” no longer fails and display error message when the diplomacy button is clicked
• Flickering no longer observed when task switching between game and desktop with Alt+Tab in “Need for Speed: Shift” game

Known Issues

Under All Windows Operating Systems

• OpenCL 1.0 conformance tests have not been run with this version of the ATI Catalyst Driver Suite in conjunction with the ATI Stream SDK v2.2. If you require an OpenCL 1.0 conformant driver, we recommend that you install the ATI Catalyst 10.5 Driver Suite
• Catalyst Control Center: Enable dialogue reposition does not show on proper monitor when system is configured with 4 displays
• With Hydravision “ATI Eyefinity Enhancements” enabled and radio button “Show on application’s display” selected, dialogue boxes may continue to pop up beneath the bezels if bezels are corrected to zero
• Catalyst Control Center – Basic wizard pane or resolution combo box in “Display Setting for Desktop Viewing” page may go blank in basic view for component video mode
• HDMI default refresh rate may appear as 50 Hz instead of 60 Hz under HDTV in Catalyst Control Center

Under the Windows 7 Operating System

• Drag and Drop transcoded H264i content may showing deinterlacing lines
• “Borderlands” may intermittently fail after a duration of gameplay
• PowerDVD may exhibits blue and pink tint and might not display smooth transition when adjusting brightness and contrast in Catalyst Control Center when viewing Blu-ray content
• Green texture corruption may be observed when resolution/video settings are changed in “Metro 2033″ game in DirectX 10 and 11 mode on some cards
• Desktop line corruption might be observed after powering off the DP display and then turning it on while viewing Blu-ray content
• Drag and Drop transcoded H264i content may experience audio and video synchronization issues when viewed on some devices

Under the Windows Vista Operating System

• Corruption might be visible in “Doom 3″ and “Quake 4″ with ATI Radeon HD 4700 Series cards
• Performing bezel compensation on 3×2 Eyefinity configuration may cause the bezel group (resolutions) to go missing
• All but the primary display under Eyefinity configuation might become disabled while changing the preferred display at lowest Bezel compensated resolution
• Choppy HD playback might occur while changing color vibrance and fleshtone correction in Catalyst Control Center – Advanced Color

Under the Windows XP Operating System

• Minor frame drops may be observed while viewing HD interlaced content
