64bit operating systems
64bit operating systems don’t allow modded drivers to be installed by default. To ensure the drivers will install on your systems please use ReadyDriverPlus or boot with: “F8 -> Disable Driver Signature Enforcement” on each boot! This will ensure you can use the drivers. If these steps are not followed the drivers will fail to work.

Will this work on XP? Or will you make another version for XP?
Thanks.
Have been using your driver for long time.
Hi, these are for Vista/Win7 at the moment. I still have to make a separate driver for XP (legacy)
Yes, I used this driver on his machine KillerSneak, he owns an x1350 so it’s supported but it doesn’t improve anything and it also has an resolution problem. If I lower the resolution the screen gets smaller and the other space turns black, this counts for games as the desktop resolution…. Am I doing something wrong? Isn’t this the good driver? Thanks for the help so far!
To quote “Sony Viao”
I also do not have screen scaling abilities.
It seems that the only drivers that have that ability are the OEM ones. which are very much abandoned.
I dont know anything about ATI drivers and their coding but might I suggest looking at OEM drivers to add some of those abilities?
Also maybe make them able to control brightness. Dell laptop drivers had the ability to change the backlight level in the Windows Mobility Center of Windows 7.
Thanks
Hey KillerSneak, I looked everywhere for this “separate driver for XP (legacy)” you mentioned here, but to no avail. :’(
I have eMachine W3507 with D102GGC2 MotherBoard and the integrated ATI xpress 200 (R300 series) with 128mb shared video ram, 2gb system RAM, and running Windows XP Pro SP3.
Which of the DNA-ATI driver packs should I use? Or would i be better off just sticking with the last ATI-Catalyst driver version that supported my chipset which was v10.2?
@Dixie
I still have to update / re-upload them. I don’t have much time lately as I’m without a JOB, Ill have my first child in like 6 months so priorities have shifted a bit at the moment for me.
Once I have a JOB again and some more time to spare ill update the drivers again. Sorry for my late reply
Hi KS,
Just checking back to see what the time-frame is for these legacy drivers for WinXP/MCE will be ready? Am in need of them.
I have a big problem with this driver on Windows 7. There is no possibility to adjust scaling in Notebook panel options tab. It is possible just in Basic View, but the choice is saved just till next restart of the application and it is not saved in a profile. PLS HELP
(
Are you looking in the Basic mode or Advanced? As you will only find the option in Basic View.
Hello KS!
I found I have the same issue as Tomexx: There is no possibility to adjust scaling in Notebook panel options tab”.
It seems the Catalyst Center is not ´so´ open to allow us to change the display resolution… What I need most when I connect to a projector in my classes. The mx resolution in the projector 1280×800… So, when I set this resolution my screen become a little square surrounded by black…
I try playfully to use the DNA-ATi 10.10… it loads and even the CCC let me change the display to Full Screen… but, when I reboot, the CCC sometimes works ok and sometimes stop working at all… Please, can you help us? THANKS A LOT!!!
(I WISH COULD INSERT HERE SOME PICTURES OF THE ERROR MESSAGES I GET. THINK IT CAN BE OF HELP TO YOU)
Hi and thanks for the feedback.
Sorry for my late reply, I have to look into this when I have some more time (some thing I’m short on at the moment)
You can install this driver without Control Center, and install not legacy CCC 9.8 for Windows XP(!). It`s work almost fine, setting “Scale to fullscreen” save correct. But “Preserve aspect ratio” don`t work…
Newest versions, and CCC for Vista/Win 7 sometimes crashes and don`t fully work with legacy driver.
hi again the driver install fails. while i am costumizing the installation it shows a new driver to install but when it comes to install it it just skipes the driver. hope you can find put why.

i am using radeon x550 card connected to HD TV via DVI to HDMI cable. It works fine. There is a major bug in the drivers (by ATI) that once I turn off the TV and turn it back On, the VGA card does not send display signals somehow. So to fix it, painful solution is to either reconnect the cable or reboot PC to get a display signal working, it was noted for other users/ATI cards only too using the drivers by ATI and yours. Since ATI stopped making updates for older card drivers, we are stuck with the problem. It would really be great to help get a fix in your driver since ATI has abandoned old card users.
whats the difference between
DNA ATI LEGACY
DNA-ATi
DNA-AMD GFX
what driver should be the best for my HIS RADEON HD 5850??
my mainboard its a Gigabyte 790FXTA-UD5
You should go for the DNA-AMD GFX 11.1.1 beta or the upcomming DNA-AMD GFX 11.2.1 that I hope to finalize today.
Hi,
First of, i wanted to thank you for your hard work with all the drivers you make.
I’m running Windows 7 64bit and an ATI Mobility Radeon x1450 and these are the only drivers that work perfectly.
The installation was simple and flawless, but i did get confused with something… you say that in 64bit systems i have to either use “F8 -> Disable Driver Signature Enforcement” on each boot or ReadyDriverPlus, but i haven’t done any of those since i installed the drivers (probably a month ago), and i don’t seem to have any problem.
Unless i’m missing something and it installed ReadyDriverPlus on it’s own, but i can’t find it installed.
Anyway, thanks again for the drivers.
btw… it installed the drivers and some profiles thing, what is that for? And do you think it’s possible to “mod” the lattest ATI/AMD drivers to work with my graphics card (“Legacy” Mobility x1450)?
Hi and sorry for my very late reply.
It’s not possible to mod the latest drivers as they only support the HD 2400 and above.
The profiles thing is an app from ATi/AMD for per game applications (CrossFire)
Well you might have the feeling the drivers load but they don’t you have to install RDP or boot with the F8 method otherwise it will load older/default drivers. (this doesn’t mean your system isn’t loading any drivers / they are just not the latest).
no xp driver?
I’m waiting for XP version too.
Posting here pretty much as a ‘Me Too!’ to the posts above about the lack of screen scaling.
I am running a Dell Inspiron E1505 with a Mobility Radeon X1400. Unfortunately they have long abandoned driver support on this notebook and the dated driver is starting to cause issues with certain applications (which otherwise newer drivers fix 100%, save for the scaling issue).
Up to this point I have been using MobilityModder.net with the official legacy drivers and have been looking at third party hacked drivers like DNA as a workaround for this screen scaling issue, but it seems the problem even exists here.
Details to go on: Notebook has BIOS option for screen scaling for the OEM drivers. Either ‘No Scaling’ or ‘Scaling’ which is a full dont-retain-aspect-ratio scaling. Using a non-OEM driver this option no longer takes effect. I can reliably reproduce scaling activity with the Catalyst ‘Basic’ screen. Setting a scaling option in there sticks up until some application changes the screen resolution from native. ie: I can set it, close out of Catalyst, run a game and have the screen scaled. But upon exiting the game it resets so if I don’t change it again, next gaming session is a postage stamp sized window. I have found the relevant registry entry for this option and have made every attempt to lock it in but my ‘hacking’ skills are pretty non-existant.
I am willing to help wherever possible in examining this issue if it is needed. I am VERY much in need of this fix. Unfortunately Flash seems to have dropped video hardware acceleration recently for this GPU amongst other related issues that newer drivers fix completely without any bugs. But the scaling issue is the one solid deal breaker.
Hope you’re still around here so we can work on a fix for this. I have been busy with several projects (including the DNA website itself) and trying to find members/”friends” to help updating the content on the website but haven’t heard anything back about it.
I’m now done updating the website (for the biggest part) and came to the conclusion this will be a one man show (content posting wise) so Ill start focusing myself more on thins I like to do and that includes modding drivers.
Hello.
Can I download DNA-ATi 10.2 for Windows XP? If not, which drivers I can choose for Sapphire Radeon x1650 PRO 256MB and Windows XP SP3? Now I’m using Catalyst 10.2.
Thanks for reply.
Hi! Where can I download DNA-ATi 10.2 drivers for Windows XP? If I can’t, where can I download the best DNA-ATi drivers for Windows XP and Radeon x1650? Now I’m using Catalyst 10.2 and finding for the best replacement.
Thanks for advance.
PS: Why I can’t see my comment?
Sorry for my late reply. The latest/older DNA-ATI windows XP drivers can be found on the link below

Hey. Are you guys still supporting the legacy driver? Are there going to be updates to it?
I’m sorry to so no Legacy driver after 10.2 has been released by ATI/AMD. Is there anything specific you would like to see updated?
